Recycled Sterling Silver Lunar Dot Pendant Necklace
The Lunar pendant necklace is ethically and sustainably made from recycled sterling silver.
These little pendants are made from offcuts and waste silver melted down to form molten dots that are then hammered to form a pleasing flat dot of silver. I use recycled silver wire to make a modern, contemporary bail and suspend the pendant from a trace chain also made from recycled sterling silver.
The Lunar pendants are really tactile and very comforting to touch, almost like a talisman. I don't use any chemicals in either my making or cleaning processes so I tumble the pendants with ceramic chips to give the silver a soft white sheen. Using wire wool I carefully rub the surface of the pendant to leave little lines and scratches on the metal and gently buff the surface with a soft cloth to leave a very smooth little dot of silver that is very tactile and touchable. These pendants have a nice weight to them and feel really pleasing to touch.
Every dot is unique and no two are ever the same - some are slightly more circular and others more of an oval shape, all are slightly irregular in shape. The edges of the pendants are slightly uneven giving a very natural feel to them. This is the perfect pendant for everyday wear; ethical and modern and the type of necklace that just goes with everything.
Choose from two sizes; this listing is for the smaller pendant which measures approximately 6-7mm in diameter and, with the bail included, the pendant is around 15mm long.
Choose from a 16 or 18 inch trace chain. The photos show the smaller pendant on an 16 inch chain. If you'd prefer a different length of type of chain, please contact me and I'm sure I can source something you'd like.
